Well hello, Internet. Never thought that I would be doing this very thing. In fact, at one point I even said that I would never start blogging. However, despite those feelings I have reached the point where I feel as though I need a creative outlet to express my thoughts and feelings. Especially regarding my design process and what my experiences are from it.
Therefore, I will dedicate myself to regularly updating this blog in an effort to display what my experiences are as a young designer in the world of Theatre, Opera & Dance.
So here we are, my first blog post.
Welcome to my world, a world of midnight coffee runs in the middle of programming for a show, a world where I cannot be afraid of criticism (either constructive or destructive), and quite frankly, a world that I love. I love the people that I am surrounded by, all these artists who I know that I can learn so much from, and yet spend so little time actually conversing with them as I have to juggle a thousand different things at the same time.
I love the art that I get to showcase to the world. And yet, whenever I attend one of my productions, I tear apart my design and wish that I could just re-design the whole thing in one night. This is one of the personal things that I am slowing trying to overcome.
I suppose it is one of those things that every designer goes through in their lifetime.
Anyway, welcome to my blog! My name is Tyler Beard. It is very nice to meet you.
